Values that should be shared in an institution called Marriage

1. Loyalty

To quote Niffenegger (2005), love is intensified by absence. Thereafter, although you don't see each other very often, that doesn't mean having affair with other human being should be the solution to the loneliness. In fact, the feeling of absence or loneliness should've intensified your love towards your spouse. When you're being loyal, it proves that you're a respectful person.

2. Mutual understanding

It's hard to live with a stranger but it's harder not to try to understand your other half. When one tries to, the other should say: "I know I'm difficult to be understood but the fact that you had tried to makes me love you more, so thank you."

3. Sharing the same set of values

Marriage as defined by Albom (2000), is sharing the same set of values in keeping the marriage intact like bringing up the children (through good times and bad) and yet still understand the reasons why did you get married to one another in the first place.
